Bodhi seed, 12mm w/metal rings and turquoise spacers, 108 beads
The mala that you showed is similar to the one that I use and it is a wise selection for peaceful deity meditation and mantras. Bodhi seed malas are frequently used since it was under the bodhi tree where the Buddha obtained enlightenment. Other "general" use malas are cedar wood, lotus seeds, clear crystal, etc. Turquoise is valued by Tibetans and is frequently used in Green Tara malas. Coral is also prized but most contemporary coral malas are dyed red.
As an explanation to Bonus' answer above regarding bone malas "It is often advised that malas of bone—whether human or animal bone—should only be used by accomplished yogins, since ritual objects crafted of bone are believed to harbor karmic influences." (from http://www.gyutocenter.com/Practice_Materials/Buddhist_Practice/Choosing_and_Using_Your_Mala/ ) Some lamas and advanced practitioners will leave instructions that their bones are to be used in making malas as a final altruistic deed. These are used in Tantric rituals by Tibetan Buddhists. Generally human bone mala use is only encouraged for practicing Buddhists and for Chod meditation(s). "The purpose of [a human bone] Mala... is to pray, recite mantra and meditate on cutting through ego-clinging, selfishness, strong attachments and cultivating an awareness of impermanence.
