Is my ear okay? I got it pierced 4 weeks ago and......?
And it has been fine until this past Friday.
On Friday night, it was hurting a lot and when I was cleaning it, it felt almost worse than the night I got it pierced.
The past 2 days I have taken Tylenol for the pain.
Last night and tonight, when I moved it to clean it, it would bleed and it was unusually crusty and red. And my mom said the back was swollen. It was never this bad, not even the week I got it pierced.
I always cleaned it right and everything, and I got it done the right way, with a needle at a good piercer place.
Should I go to a doctor or the piercer to have it checked, or will it go away with time?

Have you skipped cleanings at all?
Bump up the number of warm sea salt soaks.
And if it doesn't get better, go to the doctor and get some antibiotics. It'll help clear up any bacteria and you wont have to worry about it getting a serious infection.
Make sure you aren't bumping it, since it hasn't bugged you for the first month you may have bumped it without noticing and irritating it.
Don't worry, there are many solutions so don't let it worry you.
I'd suggest the antibiotics though, they really help and with cleaning you shouldn't get an infection.
And a horseshoe ring is fine, and do not change to a stud, changing it at all now can make this situation nastier.
